Excess Yard Waste:
If you have an excess of yard waste on a particular week and need an extra pickup, please call Pittsburg Disposal Service at (925) 432-6262. If you have an excess of yard waste on a weekly basis, an expanded weekly service is available. Please call the office for details.
Acceptable Yard Waste Materials for Green Container
The following materials may all be placed in the same Green Yard Waste Container.
Brush
Flower & Flower Cuttings
Garden Trimmings
Grass Clippings
Hay
House Plants
Leaves
Pruning
Shrubbery
Straw
Tree Trimmings
Tree Twigs & Branches (6" or less in diameter and 3' or less in length)
Weeds
Wood Chips
Yard Debris
Again, all items must fit within the Green container with the lid completely closed. This includes all twigs and branches.
Unacceptable Yard Waste Materials for the GREEN Container:
The following items should NOT be placed in the green yard waste container. Some of the following materials require special handling for proper disposal.
NO Fruit or Cactus
NO Hazardous Waste
NO Inorganic Materials
NO Large Tree Trunks or Stumps (larger than 6" in diameter or more than 3' in length)
NO Plastic Bags
NO Pet Waste
NO Recycling Materials (plastics, cardboard, paper, etc.)
NO Rocks or Concrete
NO Sod or Dirt
NO Solid Waste
NO Wood or Treated Lumber
