Residential Collection

Garbage, yard waste, and recyclable items are collected weekly on your regularly scheduled garbage day. Please call us if you need to confirm your day of service.

All garbage, yard waste and recycling materials should be at the curb by 5:00AM on the day of service.

Pittsburg Disposal Service will not pick up over-loaded containers. Lids must be closed.

Monthly Billing:

Residential bills are sent to customers at the beginning of every month. Payment for service is due upon the receipt of our invoice. Customers who have not paid by the last day of the month following the billing month will have their service stopped. For example, if a customer does not pay for May and June service, their accounts will be ended on June 30th for lack of payment. Customers will receive a reminder statement stating that service has been stopped. Pittsburg Disposal Service will pull all 3 containers 15 days after the stop date. Pittsburg Disposal Service will accept all appropriate material when we remove them. Customers must pay entire balance to resume service, including the month containers were scheduled to be removed. For example, a customer who was billed in May and was stopped on June 30th must pay for May, June, and July to resume service. Accounts resumed after containers are pulled will receive a reconnect fee. Our reconnect fee is $20 per container pulled. Accounts resumed prior to the containers being pulled will not receive a reconnect fee.

Ways to Pay: Customers can pay cash, check, money order, Visa or Mastercard. Returned checks will be charged a $25.00 fee per check. Accounts stopped due to a returned check must be paid by cash, money order, or certified check. RENTAL PROPERTIES:

Contra Costa County ordinance states that it is mandatory to have weekly garbage service and it is the owner’s responsibility for this service. The ordinance also states that if the tenant fails to pay the bill, it is the owner’s obligation to pay the bill. We require new tenants to present a copy of the rental agreement before we start service for the tenant. As long as there are no outstanding bills for the property, we will open the account for the tenant. However, when there is an outstanding balance, we require service to be in the owner’s name.

If you have extra garbage, computers, appliances, bulky items, or televisions, please call us to schedule a special pickup.
